Splash GUARDS & Guardabarros para Mazda 6

Mazda 6 Splash Guards and Mud Flaps

Splash guards and mud flaps (the two terms are interchangeable) can keep dust, grime, mud, and rocks from getting on or hitting your vehicle. You can find a number of choices that can get the job done. Installation is fairly straightforward, so it wont take long to get your Mazda sedan or hatchback back out onto the road in any weather condition.

How do you install front mud flaps?

Many of the front mud flaps designed for Mazda 6 cars do not require any drilling. These "no-drill" splash guards come with holes that will line up with the pre-drilled holes that your vehicle already has.

  • 1. Turn your front wheels so that you can create the most clearance between the tire and the wheel well.
  • 2. Remove the screws that have been drilled into the holes in the well.
  • 3. Put your flaps into place, making sure that youve used the correct parts for the left and right sides of your vehicle.
  • 4. Reinstall the screws. Before fully tightening them, check and adjust the angle of the splash guards.
  • 5. If your kit included other hardware, like plastic clips, use them according to the instructions that came with your parts.
How do you install rear mud flaps?

Rear mud flaps take just a bit more time because you cant access the space as easily. This is true whether you have a sedan or a hatchback. Your specific splash guard may come with its own set of instructions. General steps are as follows:

  • 1. Jack up the car. Be sure to use blocks so that your other tires do not roll.
  • 2. Remove the wheel to give yourself the space youll need to work.
  • 3. Line up your mud flap in the right position. Youll have to select three locations to install your retaining clips or screws. Typically, youd create a "L" shape with your screws.
  • 4. Making sure that youre holding the flap steady, drill through the flap and the back of the fender. Then, secure the parts together using screws or plastic clips.
What types of flaps and splash guards are available?

If the material is heavy-duty and can stand up to a variety of road conditions, your splash guards should be able to act as proper shields from anything that your tires kick up. Plastic is generally sufficient for cars; heavier rubber, like the ones used on trucks, is also available. Your choices could include:

  • RoadSport Pro-Fit molded rubber splash guards: These are usually available by the pair. They are contoured for enhanced styling and have a vehicle-specific fit.
  • Rally Armor basic black mud flaps: These universal-fit splash guards have the Rally Armor logo printed on them, and their black finish is UV-resistant.
  • Sparco mud flaps: Made out of curved polyethylene, they come in black, blue, or red.
  • Rally Armor UR series kit: This comes with two pairs for the front and rear of your vehicle. It has a universal fit and has the Rally Logo printed on the bottom.
