Chrysler 300 Complete Engines

The Chrysler 300 is a full-sized, luxury vehicle with rear-wheel drive that was initially made available as either a sedan or station wagon. This all-wheel drive or 4WD vehicle offers excellent brake response, cruise control, and more. Only sedans were manufactured after the first generation, and you can often find the complete motors for these luxury cars available in multiple configurations.

What are the generations of Chrysler 300 vehicles?

The first generation of these Chrysler vehicles were produced from 2005 through 2010. The second generation includes Chryslers manufactured from 2011 through 2017.

What engines are in first-generation Chrysler 300 vehicles?

There were five different motors featured in the first generation of these Chrysler vehicles. The base version was fitted with a 2.7 L V6 motor and produced 190 horsepower. Base versions designed to drive in Canada were released with the 3.5 L V6 used in the Chrysler 300 Touring models. The V6 motors used in the Touring version produce 250 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque.

The Limited version of this Chrysler features leather-trimmed seats and comes equipped with the 3.5 V6 motor used in the Touring edition. The 300C sedan comes equipped with a 5.7 L Hemi V8 motor. With all eight cylinders operating, this motor produces up to 340 horsepower.

The multi-displacement system included allows this Hemi V8 motor to operate with only four cylinders anytime less power is required. This motor also features an induction tube equipped on the side of the block. The pushrod induction tube pulls and pushes air into the induction area, improving the motors power output and fuel efficiency. The motor features OHV, pushrod design, and two spark plugs per cylinder.

Output for this motor was increased to 360 horsepower for the 300C versions released during 2009 and 2010. The SRT-8 version comes equipped with a 6.1 L Hemi motor that produces 425 horsepower, 420 lb-ft of torque, and reaches 60 miles per hour in just 4.9 seconds. The first-generation variants released overseas were equipped with either a V6 diesel motor or the V8 petrol version.

What engines were used for the second-generation Chrysler 300?

For the second generation, the 2.7 L and 3.5 L motors were replaced with a new, 3.6 L V6, producing 292 horsepower. The 5.7 L Hemi motor was carried over to the second generation, producing up to 363 horsepower. A new 3.0 L turbodiesel V6 motor was introduced for versions sold in Australia and Europe. The new, SRT edition was equipped with a 6.4 L Hemi V8 motor that produced 470 horsepower and did 0 to 60 in approximately four seconds.
