Industrial HVAC Gauges

An essential component in an office or other public place is the industrial HVAC system. Commercial equipment, however, requires constant monitoring and maintenance, which is where Industrial HVAC gauges come in. Here are FAQs about the gadget.

What is a digital manifold?

A digital manifold is an HVAC measuring tool that shows LCD readouts. These devices also have thermometers used for measuring liquid suction and line temperature. Perhaps the best thing about a digital manifold is its ability to display measurements for running superheat and subcool numbers simultaneously because of built-in P/T charts.

How do HVAC manifold gauges work?

Manifold gauges work by controlling the flow of refrigeration going through the passage of the device's body. The internal components of the indicators work so that the pressure of the system is evaluated when the valves are closed.

What is a manifold gauge set used for?

The manifold gauge set is used to complete multiple tasks. The gadget comes with two pressure valves that measure both low and high pressure. Technicians typically resort to using a manifold gauge set for vacuuming and testing HVAC systems.

How do you remove HVAC gauges?

It is important to remove HVAC gauges properly to avoid injury and damage to the refrigeration component. The following steps will help you correctly remove the device:

  • Close the high side of the manifold.
  • Remove the high-pressure hose only if a low loss fitting is present. Removing a high-pressure hose when a low loss fitting is not present could lead to frostbite from the refrigeration component. Turning the high hose counterclockwise is the easiest way to loosen the gadget.
  • Allow the high side hose to bleed.
  • Open the manifold on the side of the high side hose so pressure can be transferred to the low side of the component.
  • Close the high and low side of the manifold.
  • Locate the blue hose on the device and turn it counterclockwise at the service port to separate it from the AC unit.
  • Attach the low side hose to the low side manifold.
  • Replace the service port.
What is an industrial HVAC?

The acronym, HVAC stands for "heating, ventilation, and air conditioning". The system has technology that balances air from the outdoors with that of the atmosphere inside to provide an environment of comfort. Air quality is at the center of the HVAC system, which is why ventilation is so important. Ventilation involves exchanging poor air quality with that of acceptable breathing conditions. Unpleasant odors, as well as harmful bacteria, are taken into the ventilation portion of the HVAC system. What is placed back into the atmosphere is air that can safely be inhaled.

The ventilating component is so vital, which is why it is crucial to maintain this portion of the equipment. Regular cleanings and flushes continue to contribute to good air quality. Poor maintenance could lead to even worse breathing conditions.
