How do you install fender flares on a Toyota truck?

Begin by reading the instructions that come with your new fender flares, as each product may have unique application steps. Some flares have a "no-drill" installation that will also differ from the steps listed below. If your Toyota truck has flares installed already, you will need to unbolt them from the fender.

Lay the new flare against the body to verify that it fits correctly before installing. Also, make sure that the holes in the flare align with the existing holes in the fender wall. You may need to drill holes into the fenders in order to mount the new flares. From this point in the process, continue as follows:

  • Clean the fender wall where you plan to attach the flare.
  • Place the double-sided tape on the flare where it will connect with the fender wall.
  • Align the holes on the flare with the holes on the wall of the fender, using the tape to hold the flare in place.
  • Place bolts through each hole in the flare and secure them.
  • Repeat this process for each fender.
How do you install weatherstrip belt molding around vehicle doors?

Start by removing the old molding before installing the new weatherstrip. Remove any screws and then slowly peel the molding away, unclipping any plastic studs as needed. Next, use an adhesive cleaner/remover to clean off any residue or debris. Put the new molding into place, matching the door contours and aligning the holes for plastic studs or screws. Place the adhesive on both the molding and metal surface before pressing into place. Snap all plastic studs into place and verify that the ends of the weatherstrip are glued down snuggly before inserting any needed screws. Use a cleaner to remove excess adhesive and allow plenty of time for the molding to set and dry.
