The JTEC PCM is the older version that used three connectors, while NGC PCM is the newer version that comes with four connectors. JTEC had three connectors because it used a separate TCM, transmission control module. In contrast, TCM is integrated into the newer NGC PCM, resulting in four connectors instead of three.

It should be noted that certain 2006 and 2007 models of Jeep Liberty also used a hybrid PCM architecture.

While shopping for a new or used complete 3.7 engine for sale on eBay, you may be tempted to swap the engine for 4.7L PowerTech V8 varieties or other similar engines from other vehicles.
