Canon FD Lenses for Sale

FD lenses are compatible with their interchangeable FD series mounts, and they connect to 35mm Single-Lens Reflex or SLR camera bodies and have no auto-focus capabilities. These FD mounts were not designed to communicate with lenses, so they must be manually focused. The FD lens was built with the highest optical quality for film/analog photography, and it was widely used by analog photographers prior to the introduction of the EOS system.

Which fisheye lens works with this system?

Canon successfully built the 35-70mm F/4 autofocus lens, which works on all FD cameras. The fisheye focal length ranges from 17mm to 28mm and includes the following Vivitar and 3 Canon FDs listed below:

  • Vivitar fixed 17mm f3.5: wide-angle, uses a 67mm filter
  • 20mm 2.8 fixed wide-angle manual focus
  • 24mm f/2.8 fixed wide-angle SLR
  • 28mm f/2.8 fixed wide-angle

What is Super Spectra Coating or SSC?

Super Spectra Coating or SSC is a multi-layered, anti-reflective lens coating that eliminates image distortion. Canon designed its coating to protect the lens while producing sharp images. It maintains optimum color balance to eliminate image distortion. These common distortions show up as either ghosting or flares. Ghosting refers to a faint second image that appears in your shot while light is reflected from the back of the lens barrel and falls onto your shot as a flare.

How many specialty lenses work on the camera mount?

Canon created seven specialty lenses. Some of these lenses are listed below:

  • Soft Focus 85mm f/2.8 designed for portraits
  • Macro 20mm f/3.5 and 35mm f/2.8 for 4x-10x and 2x-6x magnification for microscopic and small objects
