ATV Wheels and Tires for Kawasaki Prairie

The Kawasaki Prairie is a series of 4x4 all-terrain vehicles made with different trim levels. The 4x4 ATV series includes the Kawasaki Prairie 360, 400, and 700 models. After years of driving one of these Prairie models off-road, the tires, rims, or bearings may need to be replaced for your comfort and safety.

What are the types of wheels and parts?
  • Wheel bearings and joints: The wheel bearings and joints are parts that keep the tire attached to the hub and axle. These parts are made of stainless steel, which resists rust and corrosion. The parts may need to be replaced due to wear and tear or stripping of the threads.
  • Rims: Rims are parts that provide structural support and stability to the Kawasaki 4x4 while you go for a ride. The rims may get bent if you encounter a hard obstacle, such as a rock, curb, or piece of loose concrete.
  • Tires: The tires for Kawasaki ATVs are made out of thick rubber. They feature deep treads that allow the different models of ATVs to traverse uneven surfaces, potholes, and muddy areas on dirt paths.
How do you choose wheels for the Kawasaki Prairie?
  • Select the trim and year of the ATV:Choose the trim level of your Kawasaki and the year that your ATV was produced. The different trims and generations of the Prairie have different fitment requirements.
  • Choose individual ATV parts or a full wheel and tire kit: Select parts, such as bearings or ball joints for the wheels, or an entire wheel and tire assembly kit.
  • Select the manufacturer:Select Kawasaki as the original equipment manufacturer of replacement bearings, joints, rims, axles, or tires. There are also wheels and tires for Kawasakis made by Carlisle, Interco, ITP, Kenda, Maxxis, Moose Utility, Sedona, and STI.
How do you change Kawasaki Prairie tires?

When a tire or unit of its assembly goes bad, it is necessary to replace the problematic components so that you can drive your 4x4 ATV safely and comfortably. To replace the tire on your Kawasaki vehicle, you can follow the steps listed below.

  1. Drain the air from the tire that needs to come off. Do this by opening the valve stems with a valve stem opener.
  2. Break the seal between the tire and the wheel. Do this by firmly pushing against the tires side wall where it intersects the rim.
  3. Insert a tire iron between the rim and tire to complete the removal of the tire from the rim.
  4. Remove the wheel from the axle with a wrench and lay it on a flat surface.
  5. Attach the new tire to the wheel base, adding some lubricant to make the edges of the tire fit over the rim of the wheel. The tire iron may help with getting the sides of the tire around the rims.
  6. Use an air compressor to inflate the tire with air through the valve stems.
