Chrysler LHS A/C and Heater Controls

The Chrysler LHS is a family-friendly sedan with a longitudinal front engine and four-speed automatic transmission. You can repair or renew the controls for the heat and air conditioning in your vehicle. These controllers allow you to adjust the interior temperature when you’re driving your Chrysler.

What kinds of Chrysler temperature controls are available?
  • Climate-control module: The climate-control module for the LHS controls the operation of the air conditioner, heater, and fan. It also allows you to control the temperature in the front of the Chrysler sedan separately from the back of the vehicle.
  • Air-sensor circuit board: If the knobs and push-button controllers of the climate control module in your Chrysler LHS car work, but the circuitry behind the panel has gone bad, the air sensor circuit board can be replaced. This circuit board contains all of the electronics that get signals from the cars heater, air conditioner, interior cabin, and exterior.
  • Ambient air-temperature module: The Chrysler LHS receives information from the ambient air temperature module and uses that data to adjust the intensity and speed of the heating or cooling of the air from its heater or air conditioner. This module can be replaced on its own if it has gone bad and can no longer accurately detect the vehicles cabin temperature.
How do you choose Chrysler LHS A/C and heater controls?
  • Select the LHS model year: The LHS sedan was made from model years 1994 through 2001, with the exclusion of 1998. Select the year that your LHS was built and its trim level to get the right part for the vehicles controls.
  • Choose a manufacturer: A/C and heater controls for this car are made by a variety of manufacturers, including Chrysler, Airtex, Dorman, Four Seasons, Global Parts Distributors, Mopar, Original Engine Management, and Standard Motor Products.
  • Select a full control kit or an individual module: If you are replacing only the air conditioner or the heater of the car, choose a module that will control the new unit. If you are replacing the cars entire heating and air conditioning system or the original module has failed, choose a full control kit for the cars heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
How do you install LHS A/C and heater controls?

Whether you are replacing the Chrysler LHSs full climate control module, ambient air-temperature detecting module, or heating and air conditioning circuit board, the installation steps are similar.

  • Begin by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery in the engine block and the positive cable from the climate controller.
  • Remove the faceplate of the cars climate control module by using a screwdriver. Pinch the clips to release the modules trim.
  • Unwrap and disconnect the wires for the module that you need to replace.
  • Replace the faceplate and reconnect the cars positive and negative battery cables.
